To protect the health, safety and welfare of the general public by assuring that all buildings, structures and related equipment are constructed, installed and maintained in compliance with the standards contained in building, safety and property maintenance codes.
The Bureau has primary responsibility for enforcing building/construction codes, minimum standards of habitability for rental property and elimination of dangerous structures or portions of structures.
In support of this mission the Bureau reviews all application for accuracy and compliance to City and State codes: and issues building permits, rental permits (for residential rental property), and demolition permits.
